Accessibility Conformance Level

Conformance level is the tier you measure accessibility against under WCAG: A (the minimum), AA (the common, widely required target), and AAA (the strictest, rarely required across a whole site).

Most legal requirements and project goals require AA compliance, so when someone says a site "meets WCAG," the practical question is which level and how much was actually tested. Naming the target level early keeps accessibility from being a vague aspiration.
