Soft Requirement

A soft requirement is a nice-to-have — functionality you'd like but could live without.

Soft requirements are the counterpart to hard requirements, the non-negotiable must-haves. Where hard requirements act as a pass/fail gate, soft ones are more like tiebreakers: when two options both clear the essentials, the nice-to-haves help you choose between them.

Sorting your wish list into these two buckets before you evaluate a content management system forces honest conversations about what matters.
