Session
A session is one continuous visit to your site by a single person. It begins when they arrive and ends after a stretch of inactivity, often 30 minutes, regardless of how many page views happen in between. One person browsing ten pages in a row is still one session.
Sessions are a more honest measure of reach than raw page views, because they're closer to counting actual visits. They're a building block of web analytics, and metrics like bounce rate and pages-per-session are calculated against them.
