Scope Creep

The gradual, unauthorized addition of features or requirements beyond the agreed-upon scope.

Rather than as a large demand, scope creep often arrives as a string of small, reasonable-sounding "can we just also" requests. While each request may seem harmless on its own, the full scope of requests may stretch the budget and the timeline. This is different from managed changes and scope changes.
