Return on Investment (ROI)

The assumed payback, in revenue, savings, or some other value, that's used to justify spending money on a project.

Return on investment (ROI) is the math behind the question "is this project worth it?" and it is typically calculated in order to justify whether a new site or project will earn or save more than it costs to build and run. The scope of a "return" is typically determined by leadership and may be different depending on who you speak with.
