Penetration Testing
Penetration testing, or pen testing, is a security exercise where someone deliberately tries to break into your site, probing for weak spots the way a real attacker would.
The goal is to have a friendly expert find your vulnerabilities before a hostile stranger does. Penetration testers attempt to slip past authentication, reach data they shouldn't, or exploit gaps in your code. What they find becomes a list of things to fix before launch. It's a specialized part of quality assurance, and it's especially worth doing when your site handles sensitive information like logins, payments, or personal records.
