Page View

A page view is one instance of a page being loaded and viewed. If one person refreshes a page three times, that's three page views, because the metric counts the viewing, not the viewer.

Page views are easy to collect and easy to brag about, which makes them a classic vanity metric: a big number that tells you little on its own. To understand actual reach you'll want to look at sessions and unique visitors, and to understand value, tie page views back to your KPIs.
