Navigation

Navigation is the wayfinding system of your site, including the menus, links, and labels that move people from one place to another. It's the visible expression of your information architecture, turning an abstract structure into something a visitor can click through.

Navigation does double duty. It helps people get where they're going, and it teaches them what the site contains. A menu that mirrors how your audience thinks feels effortless, while one that mirrors your internal organizational chart usually leaves people lost.
