Hotfix
A hotfix is an urgent code change pushed outside the normal release schedule. Hotfixes most often occur because something is broken on the live site and can't wait for the next planned deployment, so developers will fix that one thing and push it out on its own.
Hotfixes are normal and necessary, but a steady stream of them usually points to gaps in your quality assurance or testing. When a hotfix itself goes wrong, you'll want a rollback plan to get back to the last good state. Reserve them for genuine emergencies rather than routine changes.
