Customer Relationship Management (CRM)

Customer relationship management (CRM) software keeps a record of the people your organization deals with, such as customers, leads, donors, or members, along with every interaction they've had with you. It serves as the institutional memory for those relationships.

Websites and CRMs are often wired together through an integration. When someone fills out a form or makes a purchase, that information can flow straight into the CRM; in the other direction, the CRM can shape what a visitor sees through personalization. Salesforce and HubSpot are common examples, and connecting to one is a frequent reason web projects involve a web service.
